This is not bad news
Although it sounds like it is. One of my anchor jobs is going to cease with the new year. This isn’t exactly a surprise because I could do the math and see that the project wasn’t making money they way they hoped so I’m taking it in stride. Happily I have other work that will make up the difference for a few months. (As Brett said, if it had to happen, now is a great time — three months ago would have been lousy!)
I’m actually kind of excited because I’m thinking that this might make way for the next thing. Plus my boss was really nice about it and worked hard to placate my ego even though I already knew it was purely a business decision. Ego-pacification is always pleasant!!
Ego pacification is good stuff.
