The one linking to the pics? He actually doesn’t freak me out that bad. What freaks me out is maybe the people who were smart enough to download the photos instead of using them along with my bandwidth. But even that doesn’t freak me out as much as it probably should. But it will make my husband much happier if I set up the password and so I did. By the way, if you commented on the entry below but didn’t write me, I’m not going to assume that you want the password. I totally understand if you’re not dying to see pics of the kids and I promise that if I run into you on the street I won’t say, “What, my kids are too ugly for you to get a password?”
But I mention it in case you thought that by commenting you were letting me know you were interested. Nope. You still need to email me because I’m not forcing the password on anyone.
I was telling Becca yesterday that if I’d known I’d still be blogging by now and had I known that blogging would become popular enough that there would be many people in the blogosphere who could stumble upon my blog, maybe I would have started things out differently. But back when I first began, I was hand-coding my very small journal (not all of it is uploaded but it’ll be four years tomorrow) and there didn’t seem any reason to hide info. I was excited to get 7 visitors a week, I had no comments, and it all seemed very small and quiet and personal. Now I’m out there more but I can’t undo what I’ve already done and so people know my real name, they know my kids’ names, they know I’m in Columbus, etc.
By the way, since many of you asked, I found the guy because he was in my referral stats way down at the bottom.
I have two kids and a delightfully odd husband, Brett. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here.
I'm a writer and sometimes I get published, which is a nice thing. I write for joy, I write for money and when I'm very lucky, both things happen at the same time. My work appears in national publications including Yoga Journal, Disney's Family.com, Utne, Wondertime, Brain Child and Salon. Currently I am working on a book about my daughter's adoption and seeking representation for the proposal. I also own Smart Cookie Communications with my husband.

Would you be totallly anon like getupgrrl - or just use first name like some other bloggers? Personally, I like that some of my fav bloggers have most of their info out there. I however do wonder about crazies, and people in your life who you may not want to know everything you write about.

I’ve posted very few pictures of my kids on the Internet for the same reason. And now I don’t do it at all unless it’s one of my “artsy” photography type photos where they’re not looking straight into the camera, etc. There are just too many crazies out there. I’m sure I have too much info. out there already but you know, I’m a writer and author and well, if somebody *really* wanted to find me, I guess it wouldn’t be that hard. But still. I totally get what you’re saying!
Just emailed you for the password.
Happy New Year!
