I went and got myself a myspace. Lemme know if you want to “friend” me. Now let’s never speak of it again.
I have two kids and a delightfully odd husband, Brett. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here.
I'm a writer and sometimes I get published, which is a nice thing. I write for joy, I write for money and when I'm very lucky, both things happen at the same time. My work appears in national publications including Yoga Journal, Disney's Family.com, Utne, Wondertime, Brain Child and Salon. Currently I am working on a book about my daughter's adoption and seeking representation for the proposal. I also own Smart Cookie Communications with my husband.

har! I’d love to “friend” you. I have one too, but the only reason is so that I can “friend” my kid and keep track of her goings-on.

I’d friend you if I could figure the damn thing out.
Another site for you kids is facebook.com. Check it.

Now seems like the perfect time to admit to public shaming. I watch Wife Swap.
But still am far too snooty for My Space.

I’m so happy I’m in the midst of such young people! You youngin’s sure know how to do this Internet thingy!
I have no idea how it works I’m sad to say. Once, our 14 year old babysitter tried to show me and I just felt old. I’d friend you if I could you know, but seeing as how I can’t figure it out, reading your blog and having your photo password is what I’ll have to do.
You kids today.
And we will most certainly speak of this again.

I had one and used it for nefarious purposes. Like flirting with lead singers.
Is that wrong?

“Hi, My Name is Nikki, I am 32 years old, I am a wife, a sahm to 4 children,” (sniffs, shuffles feet, looks at floor, takes a big breath) “and I have a myspace page”

I have one too. I only got it to keep up with Readergrlz. I want to know why my page is covered with ads and junk and you cool people have just your own stuff there. What am I missing?

I’d like to friend you. It would make me happy, especially since the time I got one all these people who never liked me in high school have friended me and it kinda gives me the creeps.
And I’m here to say, hey, I missed seeing your posts on LJ and have been thinking of you…so finally it occured to me to come to this site. Sometimes my thought process is dazzling.

I have one too. I never look at it, I just got overly flattered by friend invitations. I want to be friends with you. Especially since I’ve resorted to befriending theaters and farmer’s markets so I can look popular too.

Thanks for the add! I started off with MySpace when Zach was making posts about being sent off to a “gay rehabilitation” program in TN a couple of years ago. Then my ex got a page…
Added you too!
