I changed out my site again. I couldn’t get the archives to render correctly with the old theme so I had to switch it all out. It was a headache but so far I like this theme all right and it’s working ok on every browser I’ve tried. I really like how it handles single posts and the way it brings archives up on the side of every page but the front page. This gives me more control with blogads and you’ll only see them on the front page here.
Madison-isms:
I have two kids and a delightfully odd husband, Brett. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here.
I'm a writer and sometimes I get published, which is a nice thing. I write for joy, I write for money and when I'm very lucky, both things happen at the same time. My work appears in national publications including Yoga Journal, Disney's Family.com, Utne, Wondertime, Brain Child and Salon. Currently I am working on a book about my daughter's adoption and seeking representation for the proposal. I also own Open Book Strategies with my husband.

It’s really pretty. I like it a lot. But I can’t read the grey words very well against the dark green in the photo. Can you lighten the lettering a bit?

It looks good! A little different, but good.
Cheer up - in a couple of years, Madison will be standing in the grocery store, begging to be allowed to ride in the cart. Then you can tell her about when she wouldn’t ride in the cart on a bet…
