Yesterday a big tech nightmare at work had me all a-twitter. Today is our busy homeschool day and we also ran into Amber and hung out with her and M. for a couple of hours. She has plans to take over the neighborhood and make it a great big party zone for our children and ourselves. I am a slave to her schemes. Oh and she came over to meet J. on Trick-or-Treat and afterwards she said, “She’s really pretty!” And I told her to write it on her blog so y’all would know I’m not just biased.
Catch up talk:
Madison likes to bring babies with her when she rocks to sleep. Babies and pigs and small stuffed dogs. Then as she starts getting sleepy she tosses them right overboard so she can cuddle up tighter.
Noah and I went and saw Hairspray the musical with my mom last week. It was FABULOUS! Better than I expected it to be and I had high expectations. It’s a great kid-friendly show with a terrific message. We give it four thumbs up between us.
And now I must go back to deal with work mess but hopefully I’ll have a useful post tomorrow.
I have two kids and a delightfully odd husband, Brett. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here.
I'm a writer and sometimes I get published, which is a nice thing. I write for joy, I write for money and when I'm very lucky, both things happen at the same time. My work appears in national publications including Yoga Journal, Disney's Family.com, Utne, Wondertime, Brain Child and Salon. Currently I am working on a book about my daughter's adoption and seeking representation for the proposal. I also own Smart Cookie Communications with my husband.
