What I did today (instead of working)

Columbus Blog Directory
I’ve been wanting to do something like this for awhile and I finally did it this week since I had a bit of space in my work schedule. So if you’re in Central Ohio and you’re blogging, c’mon down!

Story of my life

Maybe I’m lucky enough to get to show you first because it’s been making the rounds! (Brett smirked, especially because I showed it to him and then headed down to the basement to growl at the computer screen.)

If you use Firefox and Google Reader

In: Blogging

You must get this extension: Better GReader :: Firefox Add-ons
It lets you click within your google reader to open a person’s page, which means no more clicking through the reader and opening a new tab or page so you can comment or read past the short excerpts. That way when you’re done reading (and commenting) [...]

My big old site

In: Blogging

What happened

I upgraded wordpress from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 because there are security holes in 2.3.2 and also because wordpress reminds you to upgrade and I got sick of looking at the upgrade reminder. About Me

I have two kids and a delightfully odd husband, Brett. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here.

I'm a writer and sometimes I get published, which is a nice thing. I write for joy, I write for money and when I'm very lucky, both things happen at the same time. My work appears in national publications including Yoga Journal, Disney's Family.com, Utne, Wondertime, Brain Child and Salon. Currently I am working on a book about my daughter's adoption and seeking representation for the proposal. I also own Smart Cookie Communications with my husband.
