I hadn’t mentioned it here yet but I have on twitter and facebook so I may as well out myself now. I put in my two weeks notice yesterday because I got a new job. I’ll give more details about my new job when I’m actually there and working it but the short story is that it offers much more flexibility than my current job. I need that because the homeschooling stuff has been very very hard with this schedule and it’s been a source of all of that complaining I’ve been doing on my blog lately. I’m looking forward to that flexibility (my eye is still twitching and it’s been since mid-September now but I have hopes that the schedule change will make the eye twitching cease) but I WILL MISS MY OLD JOB.
Well, not the job so much as the people. I love my co-workers and even though they probably won’t refuse my messages on facebook, it won’t be the same as having a legitimate excuse to chat with them several times a day not to mention the road trips and the jokes in-office, etc.
Anyway. This transition will be consuming me for a little while and I will be full-time at my new job January 1st (I’ll be part-time before then) and I’ll give you more details then.
(I’ve never left a job for another job. I’ve left because I got fired — like when I was giving away ice cream to cute boys at Baskin-Robbins. And I’ve left because I had a baby and when the company shut down and when I moved across country and when I started school. But never for another job. It’s a whole new thing.)

And I think it’s really good thing!
I’m very, very happy for you!
can’t wait to hear all the details!
Congrats on the new job! May the transition be smooth. =)
good luck!
It’s cool that you’re not afraid of change, and that all the not completely voluntary change makes you comfortable with making decisions to try something new.
