Except for using it to watch Hulu while I did Madison’s hair this morning and getting a surprise lecture on VD by Bill Cosby courtesy of Fat Albert. After I got done laughing, I posted it to facebook. You can see the clip here. Awesomeness!
I’m trying to get a lot done this weekend because next week is going to be super busy at work with road trips and overnights and that segues into another super busy week with a massive fundraising event and lots of print jobs and piecing together info and getting feedback from all and sundry and editing things and reediting things and over and over. Ugh. So today I’m doing non-computer things (we’re re-doing Madison’s room and are hoping that fresh paint and a new bed will help her not notice all the junk we’re gonna pack away that she NEVER plays with but loves dearly anytime we offer to pack it away). And tomorrow I need to get some computer stuff done including my personal statement for the GRE.
I’m totally avoiding that in a fit of self-sabotage. I can’t hit up my references until I have my personal statement because one wants to see it and it’s all due 12/1 so I’m way behind on getting it done. I got my official GREs scores back and percentage-wise, they’re really pretty good but still — lower than my practice scores. I took it right when I was getting sick and it pisses me off that I don’t have time to take them again.
I need to quit thinking about it.

Yes, try not to stress too much about the scores. Hopefully the other stuff will matter much more. It certainly should!
Will there be pictures of the new room?
Congrats on your scores! I also scored lower on the GRE than my practice scores, but c’est la vie.
For your personal statement, you may not need to have a finished product for your rec letter writers. I write letters for my students and we ask for a draft of their statement so that we get a better idea of who they are, not to judge the finished product. And, depending on your relationship with the letter writer, you could also ask for feedback on your draft statement.
Good luck!
Hope the weekend away from the computer did you good and that you got everything done you needed to!
I know that GRE stress myself, but it seems likely you’re going to rock that application process, so I hope you were able to enjoy your weekend!
Dumb question(s) maybe: Are things coming together for your app? I saw earlier you were concerned about asking references to mail multiple letters; or to write them. The people you are asking will probably understand the requirement. Also, when I did mine, I gave the references stamped, addressed envelopes.
Good Luck! Oh, what is your program?
I turned everything in the week before last and the program sends out email forms for the reference folks to fill out. So far two have and one hasn’t so I followed up with her yesterday. My application is in “academic review” according to the OSU site. Next week I’ll apply to the University of Dayton program because they have a satellite set up here in Columbus.
I’m going for a masters in clinical counseling.
