Cindy‘s questions are mostly funny!

1. Do you have friends who mostly parents by birth or by adoption or equal parts of both?

Mostly parents by birth.

2.Are you a first born? Only child?

Smack dab in the middle. Older sister and younger brother via my mom. Older sister via my dad’s first wife. Two younger sister’s via my dad’s third wife.

3.How long did it take you to make money as a freelance writer?

My first year freelancing (I’d say this was 1999) I made a very little bit of money — enough to buy a family zoo membership — and I wrote for barter.

4.Was the expenses of your adoption of Madison tax deductible? (it is where I live)

Yes.

5.Does your husband share your belief system?

Depends which one you mean. He and I mostly share homeschooling beliefs (he tends to be more structured than I am and that’s good because Noah likes structure) and family values but he’s a Christian and I’m Jewish. We are raising the kids formally Jewish (as in their religious education is happening at synagogue) but we’re a flexible, pluralistic religious family and believe that the relationship that our kids build with God/G-d is their own if they choose to build one. (I’m rooting for them to be Jews, I’ll admit it. I don’t think Brett feels as specific about it — just wants them to have a relationship with God/G-d.)

6.What is you belief system?

Jewish.

7.Do you like chocolate?

But of course!

8.What food do you hate?

Salisbury steak.

9.Does it snow where you live?

Yes, it snowed today! Madison is waiting for me to finish this so I can get her into her snowpants!

10.Did you ever encourage Pennie to go into counselling?

Yes.

11.Are you friends with any other birthparents?

Yes.

12.Are you friends with any adult adoptees?

Yes and the one to whom I am the closest thinks open adoption is WEIRD.

13.Did(or do)you have a lot of help with the OAS or are you mainly the sole administrator?

Sole administrator but there’s not much administration to do. Anyone can contribute though!! It’s one reason I want to move the site over — I want to make it easier for people to feel involved.

14.Do you like me?

Yes. And I’m awfully glad you found me via OAS and that you’re such a vocal member there.

15.Do you like meat?

I don’t eat pork or beef but I like fish and poultry.

16.Do you travel out of the country?

Never have, sadly.

17.Do you like Canada?

I probably would but I’ve never been there.

18.Is this too many questions yet?

No because they were easy!!!! I’m putting off some of the hard ones people are asking me but I’ll get to them!!

Its nice that you think I am vocal. If you met me in person it would be awkward because I sometimes find it hard to conversate like most people do.
You must feel real sorry for homeless people, most of the dinners they get include Salibury Steak.
Thanks so much for answering me!
