Oct 24, 2008 The Story of My Life
Madison is coughing. Noah is grouchy. We’re not doing anything today but resting and making soup. I don’t even know if we’ll get dressed (I know I won’t). And I’m taking a break from work — there’s plenty of time this weekend and I can’t think straight anyhow.

I live in Central Ohio with my two homeschooled kids and their internet-wary father and have been blogging our lives since 2001. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here. I pay the bills by working for a non-profit (telecommuting 3 days a week) and feed my soul by writing creative nonfiction, which has been published in Salon, Bitch, Greater Good and Brain Child (among others). Oh,that sucks. M is also home sick and miserable today. Even the weather seems to point to a day vegging out under the covers. I hope you feel better soon!

Dawn, Sickness is going around! Stay warm, eat soup and just chill out!! Hope everyone is feeling better soon…so far so good here(me) but people all around me sick! I better not get anything I need my flu shot to kick in, one more week for it to take effect.xoxo
