Didja hear his firm stance on talking about Bristol?

And his campaign reiterates, “The children of candidates do not choose to run for office and be thrust into the spotlight.”

Yeah, McCain! Good on you! Gee, I wonder what changed in ten years? Oh yeah, he’s talking about candidates! Not politicians currently holding office! Those kids are free game! That’s why McCain thought this joke was so hilarious:

But he’s learned his lesson!! You don’t trash kids! In fact — don’t even talk about them! Leave their personal crises alone! Certainly don’t exploit them by, say, bringing on the father of Bristol’s baby to the convention or anything. That might draw attention to her private matter.

McCain needs the pro-life, evangelical vote and he’s willing to exploit chldren to get it.
I’m really ticked off about the hypocritical nature of their campaign this morning.
Really upset.
But the people who need to listen and realize… won’t. And that’s really sad to me.
Honestly, I’d like the candidates to leave off the kids. It’s a shame that McCain has no scruples whatsoever. True. But there’s plenty of things to go after about McCain/Palin without even mentioning their families.
Like the fact that Palin is stupid enough to approach a librarian about the proper procedures to ban a book/s. Or that she wants Alaska to secede from the union. Or that she believes the earth is 6500 years old - and would like that taught in every school in the US. There’s a lot more, too… Just the tip of the iceberg that will - hopefully - sink any chance that McCain will ever be president.
We should really be concerned about McCain’s judgement with this. Seriously, he is willing to grandstand and make a bad choice- not even his first or second choice according to reports- because it will pander to the far right and he hopes will win that election. Who cares what comes after? I’d admired him more if went for Ridge or Liberman and went with his real gut.
This is like Obama picking Nader or Kucinich to win the far left.
Palin is all about pushing an agenda, not governing a country.
And did you see the alternet piece today about Palin exploiting Bristol? Similar stuff. It all makes me sick. I’m with spyderkl, above, noticing all the other stuff we can go after Palin for.
Right, he doesn’t want his kids in the spotlight which is why he has blonde Meghan ALL OVER THE NEWS while his transracially adopted daughter Bridget is like in a closet somewhere.
Sick.
Oh now, Susan, be fair. He trots her out whenever he wants to talk about how charitable he is! (I hate him.)
