I know it’s beautiful out

But I’m working in a building without windows. Even most of the hot shot offices don’t have windows. I find that odd.

Brett had a good but modest day yesterday (much like his own self). He went to a job training thingie for a job he starts after my job is over. He visited with friends who watched the kids while he trained. Then we took him out to dinner. (Home Town Buffet — Brett is more of a gourmand than a gourmet with a yen for comfort food and it did save us buying a cake, which he didn’t really want.) Then I came home and worked.

I completely forgot about Mother’s Day being Sunday. Complete. Brett’s mom is out of town but we need to think of my mom and I have to call Pennie and see if she’s working. We already talked to her about getting her a photo session with Patti but we need to check in about that, too.

I have more to say but no time to say it. Must go get ready to leave!!

  1. We like Home Town/Old Country Buffet/ Ryans (in some other states) too. It’s good for vegetarians because the salad bar is huge. And all those desserts are pretty yummy. It was my introduction to “typical American food” many years ago and the only occasion I get to eat it since I don’t like diners and other such “typically American” eateries and will otherwise only eat ethnic foods in the rare occasions when we eat out. Plus it’s SO SO cheap! Particularly for lunchtime. And being the frugal people that we are, particularly my parents, we/they love it. Actually it’s very embarrassing, but we make a point of being really really hungry (like having a very light meal beforehand) before going… yeah, the things frugal (I cannot really say poor) people do… :-)

P.S. I’ve been wanting to write that money post, following yours and my friend Aliki’s, for the longest time, I hope to get to it someday.

  2. Oops…missed previus b-day post…Happy Birthday to Brett! We are not really big on celebrating b-days…pretty low key for both of us….heck…there have been years were we don’t even do gifts (mutual accord) but we love to eat out so we do use them as excuses!LOL
