I chose five doors and I tag five other homeschoolers: Abby, Kristen, Paige, Kris and (homeschooler to be) Shannon! (And anyone else so inspired!)
(I have a lousy camera so I’m heading to flickr.)

This was a cheat. This is a picture of place called Durdle Door. I chose it because I want my kids to learn awe in the face of the world and all it has to offer and all they have to offer it.

This one is to show that I want them to learn that there are lots of different ways to live in the world and to celebrate that diversity.

I chose this one because I want my kids to learn that they will always be learning. With every bit of knowledge won, there are more questions and that’s just fine.

I chose this because I want them to learn that life can be unpredictable but that sometimes surprises are wonderful things.

Finally I want them to know that the path to learning is always books, books and more books. If you know how to read, you can learn anything.
I have two kids and a delightfully odd husband, Brett. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here.
I'm a writer and sometimes I get published, which is a nice thing. I write for joy, I write for money and when I'm very lucky, both things happen at the same time. My work appears in national publications including Yoga Journal, Disney's Family.com, Utne, Wondertime, Brain Child and Salon. Currently I am working on a book about my daughter's adoption and seeking representation for the proposal. I also own Smart Cookie Communications with my husband.

Ugh, that’s a hard meme. Extra hard because you gave the most gorgeous answers. Why couldn’t you tag me with a juvenile meme with questions about bodily functions and whatnot?

Wow! Beautiful and well thought out answers. I can’t even imagine how I’d top the combination of images and answers.

Does it have to be pictures of doors? Does it have to be five pictures? I’m confused… (Not a good sign.)
