I’m waiting for an editor to call

She’s calling in 19 minutes. I am, of course, nervous but not psychotically nervous. We are talking about EDITS and I have a fear of failure.

Anyway! Did you know that PandoraJam will rip your playlist — as it’s playing — into your iTunes? This is why my iTunes widget in my sidebar ain’t moving — I’m ripping music because I’m mourning my bereft of music iTunes library after that last horrible crash. I’m afraid I’m kind of greedy. So until I have my library filled back up, it’s Pandora playing around here. (Note to self: Find Pandora widget for sidebar. Found it!)

Madison had a playdate today with one of my writing group member’s kids. They had a pretty darn good time as did the moms. Terreece is going to set the world on fire any minute here. Like in a millisecond really. Leslie and I (another writing group member) believe she can live our dreams of consumer magazine success because it turns out Leslie and I aren’t so hot at the consumer magazine writing. We can’t keep up the optimistic momentum to make a living that way. I’m better at scattershot efforts at markets and corporate work to pay the bills. Leslie writes beautiful fiction and works for a literary non-profit. Terreece, god love her, will make right our own failures.

Anyway, Madison had a good time with Terreece’s daughter. They’re about the same age and spent some time arguing over baby dolls and some time sharing tutus (again, shout out to Julia!). Madison stripped down totally naked to wear hers but I made her go get some pants on. Terreece’s daughter wisely said, “I don’t think you have to take your clothes off to look pretty.” I told Madison that those are words to live by.
