Life is good, the children are well
The kids woke up first today and Noah helped Madison get dressed. He’s getting excited about the holidays and he likes to fill her in on how things will work.
“Today you’ll eat turkey and mashed potatoes and PIE!” he told her. Yesterday he sang her a song about presents since there will be a lot of gift giving coming up.
Today I’m grateful for Brett’s lay-off that forced us to step out into a scary new world. I’m grateful for an end to the tumult that accompanied our decision to forego company matched 401ks, company provided health insurance, and a ready paycheck and the feeling that we’re on the same optimistic team again. I’m grateful for Brett’s bravery and flexibility — his willingness to do things that terrify him, his belief in me, and his love for our kids. And I’m grateful for the people around me who have been such an emotional and practical support and who never doubted that we could do this thing.
What’s most exciting? Next year will be even better!

Happy Thanksgiving Dawn.
Happy thanksgiving to all of you!
Yes, there are so many things to be thankful. You know, I agree, next year will be better than this year, there’s no doubt about that. This is a great consolation to me even though I have no idea what’s going to happen. I hope many good things come your family’s way next year and ours too :).
