I’m waiting to get this book on reserve at the library: Identical Strangers: A Memoir of Twins Separated and Reunited but I’m on their email announcement list and they’re going to be on The View at 11am this Wednesday. (I can’t stand The View so I’ll probably miss it accidentally on purpose.)

Elyse Schein had always known she was adopted, but it wasn’t until her mid-thirties while living in Paris that she searched for her biological mother. When Elyse contacted her adoption agency, she was not prepared for the shocking, life-changing news she received: She had an identical twin sister. Elyse was then hit with another bombshell: she and her sister had been separated as infants, and for a time, had been part of a secret study on separated twins.
They were on The Hour, a Canadian late-night TV show, last week. Very interesting — I’m curious about the book, too.

I feel the exact same way about “The View.” Every time I hear that bloody “I had this idea for a show,” I think, “and you should have left it in the ‘idea’ stage.” GACK!
I heard them on NPR a few weeks ago. It was good. Looking forward to the book.
Wow, just wow, I gotta read it too. I heard them for a few minutes on NPR (I think I just got the very end of the program), but I didn’t pay much attention. They’ll be in town in ten days, I hope I can go see them.

Damn you, Abby! Getting ahead of me in the library line!!! BTW, you have become Madison’s new imaginary friend. She says you took a bath with her and did a lot of splashing this morning. I said, “That sounds just like her!” It’s like M. is her new best friend once removed or something! At least we’re getting closer…
I heard them on NRP too. I cried and cried. I blame pregnancy, although I probably would have cried anyway. They interviewed the doctor who did the study, and he has never apologized or expressed any regrets, and there are some twins from the study who still don’t know they have a twin. I need to reserve the book.
