- More women than men read me.
- Most of my readers are between 25 and 34. The next highest segment are between 55 and 64.
- Most of you have had some grad school.

That’s what I’m wondering, too–surely my ISP isn’t sending along my resume with whatever identifying info about location?!?

That is freaky that it can figure that stuff out, if it’s right. (As for me, woman, tick, grad school, tick, but not in either of those age groups.)

QuantSite uses statistical modeling and some form of cookies (possibly tracking where people go) to estimate this stuff. They get some sense of how many people are visiting a site, what its keywords are, and then extrapolate from that information to their larger database.
We all carry so many of these free-floating tracking cookies, it’s hard to know whether we’re participants in these sorts of databases or not.
(BTW, I fit that profile exactly.)
