One Little Thing
I’ve added the NoFollow Free plugin to the blog. What this means is that when you comment on my blog the google bots will now use that link you create to add to your google pagerank. Usually — to combat spam — comments on blogs don’t add to your pagerank. Higher pagerank helps you sell ads, be popular and push your blog higher on search engines. But I’m diligent about spam here in the lovely world of thiswomanswork.com and I wanted you all to get the benefit of your comments. So voila. Now you shall. (Don’t ever say I didn’t appreciate you!) The plugin also shows how many comments you’ve left here after your name so now you can see the awesomeness that is you commenting. (I’ll add that I’m a lousy commenter myself since I read through google reader and rarely click through even though I know this is wrong so I totally understand the silent among you as well and feel you are awesome just by your presence.)

woo woo
I appreciate you
I just had to comment after that.
Um, I need to know how many comments I’ve left in the past six years. So, I’m commenting. But this seems as good a place as any to mention that when I started reading I was so pleased to find someone else who couldn’t have a second baby at will. Now, six years later, I’m 21 weeks pregnant at the age of 40. It was quite a surprise, and really, seems like a miracle. It reminds of what a character in one of the Anne of Green Gables books says, “It just goes to show that you’re never safe from being surprised until you’re dead.”
Anyway, I also appreciate you!
Oh I’m excited. Now I’ll have to actually write all the ideas I get for comments.
Hey, Cheryl! See, if you had a blog I would have already known to congratulate you! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Yes, how many comments. I bet I think it’s more because I think I should be commenting, but you know, sometimes I feel like an outsider because I have bio kids. Stupid. I know.
Oh Julia, you outsider breeder! But you breed mutants so it’s all good!
I should set up this plugin on both blogs, too. Eventually. (BTW, I rock.)
Ha ha, now I have to comment to see how many comments I’ve left. Although I suppose that won’t work, since I just changed my name.
What I was really going to say though was that that was one of the reasons I have (again) given up on using an RSS reader - makes it too much trouble to comment. The other reason being that i can never keep up and then when I look at a few posts it tells me I’m up to date with that blog, though there’s probably a way to stop it from doing that (or a different reader that would).
Anyway, thanks
we appreciate you too!
oh, that’s great, THANKS!, since I’m really good at commenting. Is it retroactive, though? I mean, will the Google bots know/scan/do-whatever-they-do to count the comments from years back or just from now own? Oh, never mind, I’m stupid, I should have looked more carefully above, it works as soon as we post the comment. Now I’m SOOO curious to know how many I have?
let me hit submit then…
WOW! 120 comments — I’m the second one after you, at least in this batch of commenters
If everyone I read had this plugin my ranking would be much better!
(it’s not that bad, though). Thanks for showing your appreciation for us
