Candy overload

Noah’s friends who will be taking over his paper route next week (while Noah visits Portland with Brett) came to Trick or Treat with him. They didn’t make it through the whole route because their bags were too full. My goodness, it’s a lot of candy!

We had a lot of kids at the door, too, and also one senior citizen man not in costume who, yes, trick or treated us. We’re not sure if he was with kids. I think he was but Noah’s friends’ mom thinks he wasn’t. In any case it was amusing and what the heck, have I mentioned all the candy we have here?

Happy Halloween!

  1. What was the best joke of the night?

We used to get loads of candy (and monkey nuts, which i dont like) when me and my bro and friends would go out, then it all got put in a pile and divided between us all so it was fair.

    Happy Halloween!!

  2. shoot - we should have stopped by your house - i think we turned around just before we got to you. i did see brett walking down the street at one point…

  3. As we speak Olivia’s brushing her teeth and trying to wind down from all the SUUUGAAAR! Bri got a hold of a sucker and was really quiet until i looked over at her and I swear she looked guilty! OMG! The sucker still had the wrapper on it but she had gotten it pretty dang sticky I know she got some of that sugar…Geez - mom of the year award :0)

  4. I usually call them up on it if they are not dressed (heck…”I” make an effort so they better darn try too) so today a boy (about 11) came up and I said “hey…you are not wearing a costume” w/ a tsk tsk type of tone and he said “I’m playing the part of a regular boy walking around asking for candy” - too cute…he got a special baggy for being quick on the draw!LOL Ok…so “I’m” the one w/ a sugar rush tonight after gorging on all this darn candy (and coffee…probably not a smart combo) but it was fun.

I struck out w/ my outfit this year though (all of mine are usually home made or made up from thrift store finds) as only two people recognized me as Pippi Longstocking and they were both around my age. I’m officially old!

  5. We ran out of candy last year so we overbought and were stingy with handing out, and now we have a ton left.

Jamie wanted Madison to come over for trick or treat last night.

  6. The kids didn’t make it to your house either, Patti. Noah was going to trick-or-treat his whole paper route (yes, he’s your SNP paper boy!) but the parents of the kids he went with were appalled by the candy overload and made ‘em turn around without finishing!
