I can’t get my pictures to open up like they used to so I was trying a new plug-in, which also failed. Still, here’s a pic! Can you believe this child is only three? She’s wearing sizes 5/6, her shoe size is 13 and last time we checked she weighed 52 pounds! I wish I had a scanner — I’d scan pictures of Jessica at the same age. I think Madison’s feet are bigger (so maybe she’ll end up taller) but she is growing at the exact same rate that Jessica did!

And here’s a pic to show, yet again, that they are two peas in a pod, eh?

Finally, not to neglect my son, being forced against his will to ride an ostrich at the Merry-Go-Round museum on our trip. (This picture cracks me up — he’s so dead serious.) Madison was riding a pig, by the way, in case you were wondering.

  1. adorable. so love seeing them together.

my oldest son is also a big child. he was 12 pounds at birth and is now not quite ten but is 5′2 and a hundred pounds. He has always looked way older than he was…

my youngest son (who I called my “winky boy”) is a skinny teeny thing. Tall but underweight. Go figure. (He was 9 pounds a birth).

As always, love Noahs eyes. Are they yours or Bretts?

  2. Noah’s eyes come from Brett’s side of the family although MAYBE my eyes were that blue when I was younger (they’ve gotten more hazel as I’ve gotten older). Brett’s mom has blue-blue eyes like that but the shape is all from Brett’s side. Brett has the same shape only brown and his eyes are smaller (when he was a kid, people used to ask if anyone in his family was Asian).

So did you find yourself having to inform people re., your son’s age? Because people always assume Madison is older and expect more from her.

  3. OK, that picture of Madison and Jessica together is just THE MOST!!!

And Madison is seriously the same size as Nate — wears about the same size clothes and shoes.

  4. It’s hard to find clothes for her because she’s tall but not so tall that the strung-out clothes fit her. You know, most six year olds are stretching out and the styles today — low-riders, flared ankles — just don’t work on her body. Truly the only clothes that I can guarantee will fit her are Hannas and I ain’t made of money! She can’t wear jeans at all — hates ‘em because they cinch on her belly.

  5. Okay, Hannah’s five and Madison’s a lot bigger than she is! Of course, Hannah’s also a peanut. ;-)
I wish I could justify more Hannas for her–I love the way they fit–but, yeah, they’re expensive!

  6. Those are LOVELY pictures! And I think Madison is much bigger (taller and heavier) than Kelvin, who will be six in March but who doesn’t fit into all his 5T clothes.

I have to agree that Noah’s eyes are absolutely gorgeous! That serious expression is just the best too!

  7. I love the pictures. Noah has that expression that is priceless. Anything to get it over with. LOL

Little Man is 2yo and wearing a 3T. At his last check up he is 35lbs and 3 feet tall. Not a lot of fat, just a very solid little guy. He has a long torso and short legs so I have to either hem or roll his pants most of the time.

  8. So cute! Both of them!

I’ve found several Hanna playdresses (and also a Lands End or two) off Ebay for very good prices. Sophia adores playdresses, and we usually just pair them with cotton tights and docs (also from ebay). Also, last week at Old Navy I found a striped cotton tank dress for very cheap and put a thermal shirt underneath…so maybe check out those sales racks now. The cool thing about these playdress shapes –the high waist, babydoll thing, I guess– is that when they start to look a little too short you can make them shirts.
