Because I am insane
I’m going to be presenting here next spring! AAC - National Conferences!
The 29th Annual AAC Conference will be held on March 26-29, 2008 at the Portland Downtown Waterfront Marriott, 1401 SW Naito Parkway, Portland, Oregon 97201
I’m going to be talking about the challenges and goals around starting OpenAdoptionSupport.com. I know, I’m nuts, right? Because remember the terror? The panic? The horror of my last presentation? It’ll be better the second time around. Plus — PORTLAND! I haven’t been back since 2001! So Heather, Afrindiemum (who is AWOL from her blog, sadly) — who else is there and might come? Let’s have a mad hook up!
Edited to add: Micky Duxbury says the AAC conference is one she especially loves because adoptee experiences are well represented. I’m really excited! (Not terrified or anything yet!)

good for you. bobbie beavers was heavily advertising this conference at the ethics conference. i have a good friend in oregon…i wish I could go!
DAWN! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?!?!? It means I am going to meet you!!!!!!!! I am on the wait list to present a workshop (it seems 50-50 at this point) and even if I don’t, I’m going anyway! I’ll see you there! WOO HOO!
Susan, I am not ashamed to admit that I just squealed and then wriggled around in my office chair when I read this! Damn, I am SO excited now!!!!
Hmm, we’re not too far from Portland. I would love to hear your presentation. (And all the others!)
What?! You are going to be that close?! I will come if I can figure out how to navigate the whole thing- that’s spring break. That might mean I have to bring my kids.
Lisa!!! How awesome would it be if I got to meet you!!!!!!!!! It seems wrong I haven’t yet, honest to god. I may bring my kids, too — depends on the bank account! (I can foist ‘em off on relatives anyway — Brett, too!)
Whoo! Par-tay in Portland!
Now it’s my turn to be jealous!! Oh, I really would love to go, but it’s highly unlikely unless I find some dirt-cheap airfare that it’ll happen.
You’re gonna be great!!!
I live a few minutes from Portland!!
Hey, Natryn, where are you? I have relatives in Tigard! (And in Portland proper and in Eugene but my mom’s family are mostly in SW Portland!)
Very exciting — hope to see you, then!
