From one imperfect mother to another
Those comments have got me thinking — how much does understanding the cause of our children’s behaviors matter when we have to deal with those behaviors?
Sometimes I really appreciate the take from moms who have been there and done that.

i am afraid I have not followed this thread so I may be totally off in my comment…but, i have to say that this comment

was quite powerful for me. In an adoption reunion, you can understand why your child may act they way you do, you can read about adoptee psychology, and “do all the right things”, but you know what? Knowing all that? Doesn’t lessen the pain. It just explains it. Oh, I can understand it. I struggle with dealing with it.
Oh, Dawn– I am SO glad you wrote this! I have been twirling around similar thoughts for the past few days after reading some threads on one of the forums. I ahven’t been able to adequately put words to my thoughts. Can I get permission to steal all your words and put them on my blog sometime soon? Okay if not steal, then to refer folks here to read what you have to say?? THANK YOU, wise woman.
Very interesting post..
Thank you for sharing..
Mama2roo, I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts on it so swipe away!!!
