No days off for good behavior

I work everyday because I like to work. I don’t work at the same speed and effort or on the same kinds of things everyday but I do write every single goldurn day because that’s what I like to do.

My book proposal is coming along swimmingly. I know more about adoption than I think I do — as I work on chapter notes I’m surprised by how much I’ve absorbed these past three years. Right now I’m having trouble with organizational structure but I do know the gist of the book and what kinds of information I think will best support the discussion. I also know who I want to interview for each topic because I’ve got a handle on who the important people are in the discussions. This makes it FUN if not EASY.

I’m still trying to figure out where I should send the rejected essay. There’s one thing the rejection said that made me think I need to go back over the piece and strengthen my argument towards the front. I don’t know though.

And Noah starts school on Monday. I already hate virtual school. I feel so hemmed in by The Man. (Kidding. Sort of.) Even though this is a very relaxed and flexible virtual school it’s still got this default, which is that the kid is to serve the school and I’m all about the school is going to serve my kid.
