We saw a movie last night
We went and saw Knocked Up and I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. And I don’t usually laugh out loud at comedies but it was the right movie for us to see last night. Especially because the married couple had a fight on the driveway that was pretty damn similar to the fight we had that made us need to go see a movie. Only Brett doesn’t play fantasy sports and I’m not a complete bitch. There’s just a touch of bitch to me. Ok, well, a healthy dollop of bitch to me.
About ten minutes in I was laughing and I thought, “Oh god! Jessica and Nate should so totally see this movie!” and then I — duh — remembered that I know Jessica because she did get knocked up only she ended up giving the baby to me instead of having a happy movie-style ending. So maybe she wouldn’t want to see it. I mentioned this to Brett after and he said, “Yeah. That’s the thing about open adoption. I look at Madison and wonder if things should have been different.” Then we were both sad.
Onwards.
Madison now weighs 52 pounds and is wearing a size 1 shoe. She’s heavy and she has big feet. And she’s the smartest thing running. Gram Pam had an accident on a bike and she fell off said bike and landing on her bottom, resulting in some major bruising. She told Madison this and Madison was very concerned to hear that Gram Pam was sporting a blue and purple tush. Later during some playtime she looked up and said, “Gram Pam! I was thinking you should get a tricycle! Because then you have three wheels and it won’t be as tippy!”
as a formerly-knocked-up person, i can tell you that the movie was still hilarious
I wanted to see the movie as well (as the previews always made me laugh out loud) but also wondered how I would react. That said, I need a laugh.
