Have you ever seen Gertie the Dinosaur? It’s one of the first cartoons and Gertie, a nice Brontosaurus (yes, I know that Bronto is really Alosaurus but this is soooo old that the incorrect name was considered correct). She interacts with her animator, too.
I just picked up a copy of 99 Ways to Tell a Story which is a riot! The artist/writer, Matt Madden, starts with a simple cartoon about a mundane exchange between two people — then he goes krAZY with it 98 different ways. His Web site is http://www.exerciseinstyle.com.
I mean to say “Gertie, a nice Brontosaurus, interacts with her animator too.” I hate it when. I write fragments.
