Brett said I misrepresented the ortho swim party and reading back I can see what he means.
The ortho holds an annual swim party for all his current and past patients at a swim club. He rents out the whole place but doesn’t supply food because it’s just too big (it’s only for a couple of hours). Parents come, too, and his office has contests and a raffle. The largest number of attendees they ever had was 1700 people. I think it sounds nuts (I didn’t go — Brett took Noah and a friend).
Before I might have had people picturing some smarmy guy inviting kids to his backyard pool with promises of iPods so I just wanted to rectify that!

It didn’t seem weird to me at all. There’s a local dentist here who has a No Cavities Swim Party at the Public Pool (evening rental).
