Stolen from my flist this is a meme about highschool:
1 Who was your best friend?
Sarah Karlsberger in 10th grade, Teresa Fyffe in 11th
2 What sports did you play?
tennis my sophomore year
3 What kind of car did you drive?
I didn’t get my driver’s license until after I graduated
4 It’s Friday night, where were you?
Either babysitting or making out with Joaquin
5 Were you a party animal?
No
6 Were you considered a flirt?
No — too angry to flirt
7 Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Again, no
8 Were you a nerd?
I gave up nerdom in seventh or eighth grade when I decided school was for suckers
9 Did you get suspended/expelled?
Nope
10 Can you sing the fight song?
I have no idea if we even had a fight song
11 Who was your favorite teacher?
John Hammond, my college prep English teacher
12 School mascot?
I guess a wildcat?
13 Did you go to Prom?
Nope. We went to an all night party on campus (OSU campus) and my ex-boyfriend threw beer all over my shirt because I brought another boy. Later on when the boy I came with complained about how much I smelled like beer I took my shirt off and we got hot and heavy.
14 If you could go back and do it over, would you?
God no.
15 What do you remember most about graduation?
That I didn’t go. I graduated a year early by going to summer school for my required civics class and when the school called and asked if I wanted to walk I yelled at the poor woman and said I’d never set foot anywhere near that school again.
16 Where were you on senior skip day?
I didn’t have a senior year.
17 Did you have a job your senior year?
Again with the no senior year.
18 Where did you go most often for lunch?
Dexter’s subs. (I think that was the name) And I wouldn’t eat anything but maybe I’d have a Tab.
19 Have you gained weight since then?
Yes because now I actually eat food.
20 What did you do after graduation?
Worked as a waitress then as a childcare provider then started college a year later.
21 When did you graduate?
I stopped going to school in 1986 but if I’d gone my senior year, it would have been ‘87.
22 Who was your Senior prom date?
Well, I took Mike Thomas to that party and then a year later I went to my friend’s senior prom with a boy we called Chris-Pete (because he changed his name at some point)
23 Are you going / did you go to your 10 year reunion?
I didn’t and I won’t be going to my 20th reunion this year either. I’ve gotten back in touch with the four or five people I wanted to hear from and can’t think of why I WOULD go. It wasn’t a happy time for me and who needs the reminders?
24 Who was your home room teacher?
I’m not sure if I had home room or not. I can’t remember.
25 Who will repost this after you?
I betcha no one.
I have two kids and a delightfully odd husband, Brett. My children are Noah (born to us in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to our family through a domestic, open adoption). They are my inspiration and also the reason I don't get more done around here.
I'm a writer and sometimes I get published, which is a nice thing. I write for joy, I write for money and when I'm very lucky, both things happen at the same time. My work appears in national publications including Yoga Journal, Disney's Family.com, Utne, Wondertime, Brain Child and Salon. Currently I am working on a book about my daughter's adoption and seeking representation for the proposal. I also own Smart Cookie Communications with my husband.
