I have to thank you guys

Especially Allyo over at one foot in. She was the first person to tell me about laptop stands. (Mine is not this one but it looks like this one and it’s about what I paid on ebay — shipping included.)

Now I have Noah’s old keyboard hooked up and the good mouse (as opposed to the horrible round iMac mouse). Noah can still get to his iTunes on the iMac with the horrible round mouse and he says he’s mostly using the laptop anyway since the disk drive is broken on the iMac. (He and Madison mostly just boot up music and dance around like maniacs down here. The other laptop is upstairs.)

My desk was already pretty good, with the roll out keyboard drawer thingie. When Brett lost his job they got to take home their desk chairs and so this one is very nice with lumbar support and I have it at the right height. Now this stand raises my screen up to typical monitor height and my neck pain is so much better. It’s a huge improvement and I’m grateful. Thanks.

They let Brett have his desk chair? I’ve never heard of such a thing. A new era in corporate caring? All snarkiness aside, I’m assuming somone in the company realized they didn’t need the chairs and heck, why not let the former employees take them home, which is sort of ….nice.

They let them take home all kinds of stuff. We didn’t get a computer (we didn’t want one) but we got a bunch of plants and office supplies, including my delightful white board. At his layoff before this one we also got a bunch of stuff including bookshelves, other office chairs (we gave chairs to my mom and sister). They weren’t as nice as this one so we traded up this last time.

I saw another setup recently at our web developer’s office and thought of you. I’m glad it worked!
