I want to change from Mistylook too, same reasons, mostly I just get bored, and I too am uncomfortable with photos of my kids in my header, so I put a photo of mostly me with my kids, and guess what? Let's see -- the first reason to change is excellent (looking different) as is the picky-ness (I'm picky too, although not with the blog since I'm not very good about customizing it since it's in blogger). I completely understand your mixed feelings about having your kids in the header, but they're absolutely, gorgeously beautiful so... that makes the blog beautiful.
