Thanks. I appreciate that. It’s taken on a life of it’s on. There are at least 135 blogs up now on the Bennett case! OUSA will attempt to get a complete a list as possible, but it’s going like wildfire now. What has been nice about this is that the blogger isn’t required to have a particular adoption ideology to participate. The whole case sucks on all sides. My particular concern is the larger issue of ethics and law. The agency is notorious in Ohio.

Unreal. I’ve heard the news stories about the Gravelle case of course but I don’t think they ever mentioned the adoption agency? Of course not, why would they. But since the children were foster children I assumed they were placed by childrens’ services. Very eye-opening.

I don’t know how it works. I do know that foster care services are out-sourced to private agencies, but I’m not sure. I think the state contols some of them still. A few years ago Ohio’s then Attorney General Jim Petro did a sort of random investigation of private agencies regarding fiscal matters and discovered all sorts of rot. One agency had taken tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars and spent it on things like purchasing seat licences (I think that’s the term I mean) at the Schott–Ohio State’s big basketball arena. They claimed the seats were for kids in care. Yeah, right! The agency got the boot from the state. Ohio needs a complete overhaul of it’s child welfare system.
