Did you know…
…that you can chat with people via your google mail account? I did not. But Jenna has shown me the way. Nifty!
I’ve moved everything to gmail after my other laptop died (typing this on a new MacBook). All of my emails now go to my gmail account and I moved my bloglines to google reader. I’m a google-a-holic.
If you want a gmail invite, lemme know and I’ll hook you up. (Do people still need invites to get gmail? I have no idea.) Great things about gmail:
- No lost emails in sad computer crashes;
- Nifty chat ability;
- Easy search to find that one email from your sister where she sent directions to her friend’s house where you’re supposed to meet her in twenty minutes only you totally forgot ’til just now;
- Archive old messages easily but they will come back in threaded conversation so you know what the hell people are talking about when they hit reply three days after you hit send.
If you’re not as scatter-brained and email overwhelmed as I am, you may not need these things but I am and I do.

Hey, Dawn, welcome to Gmail! I’ve been a happy Gmail and Google junkie for a year now. I think one still needs invitations to have a Gmail account (mine says I have 86 invitations left). The search capabilities are the best, aren’t they? I have been saving all kinds of things, like phone numbers, addresses, recipes, in my Gmail. It’s also good to have several accounts, so you can have emails only for junk mail (online shopping accounts, etc.), blog, etc. I have 6 accounts, I think. The chat is really great, I have talked to several bloggers that way, maybe I’ll say hi to you sometime
(but I first need to add you to my address book).
I am dawn DOT friedman AT gmail DOT com

Good to know. I forgot to say Happy New Year!! And I got mixed up with the dates. I started on Gmail TWO years ago (January 05) — it’s always tough to calculate the dates, refer to events, etc, when the new year arrives. I’m actually catching up on your blog ’cause with family around (plus the MLA) it was hard to read everyone.
I love gmail, too. Love it!
Argh no don’t get me started with that, it’s hard enough keeping up with e-mails. I need to be away from the computer.
LOL.

Did you know that as you were typing that, probably, I was searching my email box for “dawn” and “Phone” so I could grab your phone before I ran out the door. LOL. Oh, gmail, how I love thee.
Woo-hoo, gmail! That’s all.
I love gmail. i’m putting you on my contacts list so i can see when you’re online
I love gmail and I love chatting with gmail. What I don’t like is the reader. It’s supposed to be better than bloglines but I’m obviously missing something.
