Heartbroken

Madison taught herself to say “F” and “L” correctly. She’s been doing this lately — repeating words she knows she has wrong until she gets it right. She ran over to me the other day and said, “I can say F! Frankie! And Lucia!”
(sigh)
It used to be Sankie and Yucia.

Sunshine used to say “my” instead of “I’m”. “My going outside now.” It was so cute. I would reprimand anyone who would correct her. Alas, she figured it out on her own.

Aargh. I hate that. My daughter at five still has very few, “bery” for “very,” for instance, but they’re going fast.

A dear friend of mine has a daughter named Riley. When she informed her daughter that the letter R says “R” like “Riley,” Riley said, “No, Mommy! Wuh, like Wiley!”
Oh, kids.

I dread the day Jamie says, “Thank you mommy,” instead of “Oh! Tank ooo mom-mee.”
Snif.

M. Small has been teaching himself words, and we have a bone or two to pick. I don’t know who taught him “candy canes” and “Mickey Mouse” and “hash browns”, but I will forgive you. The person who taught him “but I don’t LIKE it” - you, I will hunt down.

Don’t you love it when light bulbs go on for our kids and they positively glow from the experience? Love it!!
