I leave tomorrow
And of course I’m freaking out a little bit. Madison has invited herself along but seems satisfied with getting dinner with Gram and Gramps one night instead. (It’s all good as long as Daddy doesn’t leave, too. Last weekend she confided to me that he is her “savorite” anyway.)
This backwards hotel where the conference is being held doesn’t have wifi in the rooms — only in the lobby. I’m taking my Alphasmart along for taking notes and am not sure if I’ll feel like trucking my iBook down to the lobby too often — depends on what I end up doing in the evenings because there is conference stuff ’til 9pm if people are up for it. So that’s to say I have no idea if I’ll update much or not at all.
You know, I am really looking forward to sleeping without a toddler head shoved under my arm. Ok, so maybe I’ll miss it a little, too, but I’m hoping that I’ll be sleeping too deep to notice.

You’ll have a completely marvelous time. Enjoy doing some of your savorite things for a change.
And of course, don’tforget to bring home a couple of presents. Presents are always a good idea!
is this your Boston trip? got any spare time? i am supposed to head up to Cambridge to meet a new adoptee bud…keep me in mind.
oh, and very cool on that alphasmart. must look into that. had been pondering a tablet to help me at work. that might be better.
when i went away without my kids, i woke up in the morning and had this nice surprise of ‘hey, i’m waking up now because i’m ready to wake up - not because a kid has decided that they want to cuddle’ - as nice as those cuddles are, it was a refreshing change for a couple nights.
Good luck! Have a wonderful time!
Wow, Julie Andrews reads your blog???
Do have lots of baths and eat chocolates in bed and have a wonderful time.
Ah yes, sleep. There are other simple pleasures waiting for you too: eating an entire meal without cutting anything into a zillion tiny peices; no trips to the potty unless YOU initiate it; having a thought, speaking it aloud, and finishing it all in relative proximity to each other; the ability to drink HOT mugs of coffee or latte or capuccino, without worrying someone will jump on your lap/arms and scald you both.
So many pleasures! Enjoy!
