Contributor’s Copy
I just got my contributor’s copy of Yoga Journal for my December feature on forgiveness. This was THE best magazine writing experience I have ever had. Great edits, a supportive editor, timely pay (they paid me before the contract said they had to), great pay, and two copies of the magazine and then tear sheets in a handy-dandy plastic cover for my binder.
And the piece looks FANTASTIC! Lots of illustrations, a blurb on the cover and me featured in the front as a contributor including my smiling mug (the picture I always use, which I took of myself while crouched on the bathroom floor).
That made me really happy. If only my every writerly day was full of these kinds of moments!!

I want to see the picture!
One of the versions (I don’t like it as much — I forget now why I chose it) is at http://www.dawnfriedman.com
Oh I am so jelous. I want to be a magazine article writer when I grow up. And in Yoga Journal to boot! I don’t subscribe but I’ll be out to get the mag…. (I do Ashtanga)…Congrats on a great day for you!
(Thanks for letting me lurk here)
Michelle
Yay! Congrats, I’ll have to run out and get a copy!
Very nice. Congratulations.
Bummer, I thought I would get to see the slippers in the photo. Sure, I thought they would be odd in a photo next to an article, but I figured you were enough of a trendsetter you could pull it off. Instead, there is just a normal (though attractive) photo of you, no slippers in sight.
Good for you! And great picture (I clicked over, I’m not just making that up).
You buttface. I want a blurb about me on a cover of something. But I’m not yoga-y. Though I want to be. But no one has any classes in the middle of nowhere.
Dude. Michelle is here, too. She stalks me, ya know. LOL!
where is the photo? I want to see your slippers. Yoga? I just started doing yoga it’s amazing.
Da** girl, you’re pretty! And congratulations!
I am struggling with the forgiveness issue this very moment! I want to forgive my ex for leaving to abruptly and cruelly. I keep thinking I have and feel a weight life, then it seems to fall back on my shoulders.

Hey, belated congratulations for this! I teach yoga and think Yoga Journal is by far and away the best of the yoga mags. I’m really looking forward to reading your article.
