We are waiting for Noah

He’s got a homeschool thing going on. Madison is sleeping in the carseat and I’m sitting up front stealing bandwidth probably from my friend who’s hosting the homeschool event. I’m watching another mom play catch on the driveway with her daughter and feeling happy with my lot.

I love to do Madison’s hair. I was never a hair-doing kind of girl. I never wanted to play with my sister’s Farrah Fawcett hairdressing head and I cut my hair short as soon as I had the sense to do it. But I love to do Madison’s hair. Nothing fancy — just combing it is fun because it’s such a nice way to take care of her.

When Noah was little we used to watch him instead of television. There had never been such a beautiful child and I was sure there never would be again. I worried about that for my next kid. But we sit and marvel at Madison for hours. We have trouble taking our eyes off of her during dinner. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone prettier.

I thought of Madison last night, I had dinner at the home of one of my students and she looks like a grown up Madison. She’s so pretty. I thought, she’s a bit like what Madison will look like when she’s all grown up.

We do that too! What does TV have on watching my gorgeous baby girl play on the floor?!?
