Ugly shoe

ugly clog foot thingie
I love my new post-op shoe. It’s so comfy and my foot is sore from hobbling after Madison so if I didn’t have it, I think I’d be in tears. Brett was feeling bad that we didn’t get one right away but I said it was a good thing that the doc called it in later. It’s like that Jewish fable where the guy is sick of the noise his kids make and thinks his house is too crowded so the rabbi has him bring all the animals in? And then he takes them out and says, “My gosh, isn’t it quiet in here?” See, I had to limp around without my special ugly post-op shoe for awhile so I’d appreciate it when it showed up.

The shoe looks just like an athletic sandal! It’s not ugly, it’s super duper functional!

I’m glad you don’t have to earn any more appreciation for the finer points in life by experiencing further suffering.

Yay for comfy shoes! I am having a post-injury shoe dilemma myself, as I’m not supposed to walk around barefoot, in flats, in low heels, or in very high heels. I need some kind of slightly angled mid-heel, and the only shoe I have that fits the bill is this sandal. So I am walking around wearing socks and sandals (plus the brace) like I’m in Berkeley. It’s very, very attractive.

Anyway, I hope the shoe helps ease some of the discomfort for you! And I’m glad you got it!

Looks like the perfect bug-squasher to me. And having the shoe is a much better option than using a walker, which someone I know chose. After a week they were completely fed up with the inability to get in their SUV, up stairs or in a bathroom stall.

It’s like a mini version of my cast of doom. Sleeker, sexier, slimmed down version of the darth vader contrapation I have to wear, maybe I can graduate to that shoe eventually :)

Leeslie, are you kidding? It’s incredibly ugly. Dawn you are NOT to wear shoes like that after your toe is better, do you hear me???
That is an emergency sandal and the wearing of it shall go unjudged until toe is better.
There will be no talk of this emergency sandal being acceptable footwear.
Do not listen to Wavybrains either, her shoe looks nothing like yours, she’s just trying to make you feel better.

I had that exact same shoe in college when I broke my foot. I called it “my magic shoe.” I think I might still have it around here somewhere. Yes, I do have a problem throwing things away. What if I might need it. :)
