I’ve decided

That it’s just more fun to preach to the choir.

I’m working on an open adoption support site and I’ll hit y’all up for help when it’s good to go.

My goal is to create a grassroots support system for families touched by open adoption. The information/support will be open to all family members — extended family, too. It will be for anyone who is:
–In an open adoption (again, extended family counts);
–Would like to have more openness in their adoption;
–Was in an open adoption that closed without their consent.

There won’t be forums (lord knows there are enough of those around); it’ll just be information and I’m trying to figure out a database where people can register if they’re interested in setting up or attending support groups in their town. The gist of the site will be in helping people set up these in real life forums with resources to make the groups successful.

So what’s what I’m doing today until it’s time to go to my nephew’s birthday party.

And Madison wants you to know that she’s got new stripe-y underwear and she successfully wore them ALL DAY yesterday, even at nap. (She called both my mom and Jessica to alert them to this impressive accomplishment.)

  1. Yay! Big girl madison! And the new site sounds fab.

  2. Whoo-hoo Madison! Nat sat on the potty for the first time this week by explicit request. But I didn’t even take her diaper off–just sat her there, clapped and let her flush. It’s gonna be awhile before the Elmo undies come out, I think…

    I love the idea of the site. And you know, you aren’t gonna be (and don’t here) just preaching to the choir. You’re also preaching to reluctant eavesdroppers in the back of the nave who aren’t ready to come in, but want to hear more. You know you are. And you have been there yourself, so you know they very well might come in if what they hear inspires them, no?

  3. Do I get to be your European Branch? Lol.

    Seriously, your idea is fab. And much needed.

  4. isnt madison all of a couple months over two.
