View from our balcony. Noah fed them some grapes — the other guests were feeding them white bread and even though I know feeding wildlife is a bad thing, I figured some grapes would be a nice change from processed bread. Madison called them “neighs” when she first saw them as in, “Hey! Yook at those two neighs!”

That night before dinner Madison gave the sandbox a whirl. Noah was out chasing some more deer around. (Thus Madison’s stance — she’s asking where Noah is going.)

As you can see, Noah has taken his status as a tween seriously and along with phone conversations with friends that last for hours and much rolling of his eyes when told to do something, he has also adopted a feigned disgust with family vacations and the pictures we take during them. Madison, however, is all about the art of the cheerful pose.

Finally, Madison in the pool. Again with the posing, she swam over to me and said, “Cheese!” repeatedly until I snapped a disk-full of pictures of her.

  1. i LOVE the one of Noah & Madison.

  2. I LOVE the pictures! Madison is so chubby and cute I want to squeeze her and Noah is just too cute in his new tween “status” on that picture of the two of them…

The pool picture would be perfect with the flash on - that’s what I always do (it has become a habit) when taking pictures in the bright sun - so the face doesn’t get dark. (sorry for the unasked for advice, I know it’s annoying… :)

  3. your kids get more and more adorable.
and now i know what to call my kid: a tween. thanks.
