Mix Tape: Comfort (3 of 6)

Sorry I’m late on this — busy day.

We’re getting through comfort, going towards peace and heading to the start of the next in the series — Strength. (Yup, mix tapes have to get you from one end to the other.) There are 19 songs total so these next three get you to the mid-way point.

#7. Don’t Give Up — Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush
This song makes me think about a friend’s husband who went through a difficult, soul-searching time when he was laid off a few years ago. He’s ok now (that’s the message to this song, too).
So

#8. This is to Mother You — by Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt
This song was written by Sinead O’Connor and is on her Universal Mother CD. I like both versions quite a bit but this one showed up because we already have a Sinead song on here. Don’t want to play favorites with our artists!
Western Wall: The Tucson Sessions

#9. If I Handle You With Care — by Trembling Blue Stars
I don’t actually recall how this song showed up in my iTunes but happily it did so that I could add it to the Comfort mix tape!
The Seven Autumn Flowers

As always, the author of this small blog begs you to use these mp3s only as samples to the delights you will find in the actual albums. If you like it, please buy it. Thanks so very very much.

  1. it is so generous of you to take the time and energy to do this for us.
    thank you.

  2. Dawn, I’ve been checking in and out on your blog for a couple of years now; when I’m in an “on-line phase” yours is required reading. The mix tape, however, has lured me out of the shadows and prompted me to pipe up and say hello. I love music and have eclectic taste but tend to get stuck in a rut, thanks for pointing me to some great “new-to-me” artists. Can’t wait to browse the rest of the songs!

  3. Wow, I’m coming late to this, but HOW do you do this? Add songs to your blog? It is very cool!! And also how do you add this “iTunes right now” feature. Is that automatically done from your iTunes, or doy ou put it in manually? VERY cool! (as is the rest of your blog)
