Mix Tape: Comfort (1 of 6)
I’m making a three CD series: Comfort • Strength • Joy
Comfort is the first in the series and I’ll push three to four songs over the six days (totaling 19 songs).
Here are the first three for y’all:
One of my favorite songs to put on encouraging mix tapes, you can get it on her Don’t Smoke in Bed (and on her best of, too).
I think it’s her adenoids that made her a star. Oh and her songwriting abilities. Love the way her voice ever so slightly tremors on “my boy just up and left last week…” from It’s Like This (Runner up for this CD and also on this album, “Smile”)
They are impossibly pretty with impossibly pretty voices. I like this version better than the REM original but if you’ve got the capability (some mp3 players allow this), make it cut off before the MTV Unplugged audience starts applauding. Get it on The Corrs: Unplugged
Of course, like all mp3 postings on all mp3 blogs, the music is for sampling only. If you love it, please buy it!

The lyrics are lovely but set to music they have an even greater impact. I’ve printed the lyrics after my comments. As it turns out, another blogger at This Woman’s Work has developed a mix tape with the theme of comfort, and on of the songs she has chosen is Cry (if you want to) so you can download that song from this page: This Woman’s Work Comfort Mix [...]
