Dearest Darlingest Brett
He has to work today. He’s crossing his fingers they let him go early. Columbus has an enormous fireworks display every July 3rd called Red, White & Boom that brings people in from all over the state and a little beyond. Why, I have no idea because drunken crowds + fireworks does not = fun (I wish I had the crossed out equal sign to put here). Anyway, if he worked downtown he’d likely be home because they shut it all down but he doesn’t so he won’t. Alas.
This is what I need to do today: Make biscotti for friend’s dinner; drop off dinner (calzones etc.) at drop off place; laundry; change bed sheets because Madison peed through her cheap diapers last night (poor Brett ended up on our lumpy couch).
I wanted to make my friend this egg casserole thingie but I never got it together enough to do it. Frankly, there is a strong liklihood that I will end up buying a pie instead of making biscotti. I’m feeling extraordinarily lazy today. I fell asleep reading at about 4pm yesterday (Madison was snoozing next to me even though she had a lap earlier that afternoon) and then was asleep again by 11pm and then slept ’til 8am (minus some waking up because of thunder). You’d think I’d be well-rested today but you would be wrong.
I’m going to start the mix-tape series on Wednesday when more people are back at the World-of-Blog.

My husband’s working too, but that’s because he missed work on Thursday afternoon and all day Friday because our nephew was born and we went to Maryland to help them out…
