Oh it’s hit her and hit her hard
J came over today and counted them all — the poor baby is covered in pox. I think she’s going to have them much more severely than Noah did. It’s going to be a rough week.
J made us this pineapple-cucumber gazpacho. It was so damn good. You betcha I’m making that for the next potluck.

Poor baby. If you don’t mind sharing (it’s totally none of my business so feel free to ignore) was there a reason not to vaccinate them? Not because of the pox as such, but because of the shingles lurking in their future. Just curious.
Poor, dear baby and mama.
We’ve just been through our hell week (I don’t hope for another for a year or more). Hurry up healing!
Do share the recipe in the next year - when you have time
Wow on the last entry…
Poor Madison! I remember having the chicken pox vividly. the first few days were awful then I remember getting to watch tv as much as I wanted and getting to have milkshakes for breakfast and dinner because I had them in my mouth and couldn’t chew. So it wasn’t all bad.
Any chance you could convince J to let you share the recipe on your site. It sounds wonderul.
poor Kiddo.
Poor kid…I hope she has them on the outside only…I remember my sister and I had them all in our mouth and throat and it was just no fun at all, although it meant we were allowed to eat ice cream for breakfast!
When I had pox (pregnant with #4) and the other kids had it all sequentially while I recovered (slowly), my midwife recommended homeopathic Apis, which is made from bee sting. It was AMAZING. Minimal itching. Pretty mild break-outs. I used it again a few years later when #4 an #5 got it, and again, minimal misery. Something you might want to research and consider to minimize Madison’s discomfort.
