Competition section

I’m at the part of the proposal where I’m supposed to look at similar books and explain why they’re great, why they’re not and how mine’s different and also deserving of shelf space. There isn’t a book like mine in print right now, which is both good and horrible. Here’s why:

Good: The market is WIDE OPEN! There are books that are similar enough that they argue a market but are different enough that they don’t address this issue in quite the way I envision.

Bad: If it’s such a brilliant topic then why the hell hasn’t anyone done it yet?

Personally I think the reason why there isn’t a book like this in print right now (there was one excellent one that is out of print and a few self-published memoirs) is because of the marketing. So I’m looking at the competition as a way to discuss ways to bring the book to the attention to more of the people who stand to gain by reading it.

Not much else to say. I have to get back to work!

Which book is it that you are proposing? I know you ditched the other one, but I forget what the other two options were. And damn you for those pictures. Not fair to brag like that.
