Catching up on work

I just got in from our fabulous distaff weekend. I really want to write about it but I’m tired and am only on here to clear off my work desk.

I feel all wired and excited about writing possibilities and am so grateful to the group we’ve created to encourage each other in our writing lives. I really really really hope that our next retreat will be even better attended (about half of us made it to this one) but it also made me realize how important an in real life writing group can be. So my big commitment will be to make this happen for 2006.

Off to unpack!!

  1. I don’t care if I have to sell my soul to whoever, I will be there. I may actually even start writing again.

    ; )

    btw: i luff you.

  2. I really wish I had gone, I’m sure it was great, but I’m so glad it went well enough for everyone to talk about doing it again next year!

Part of me would love to have an in-person writing group, that did actual critiques, especially when I shift from form to form– like now I’m in a fiction-writing phase, and working on short stories, which is not the medium I’m most comfortable in, but I like what I’m doing, but would really love to have some regular readers, that I trusted, to look at it, that I was already in a circle with, so I would know it would be a true exchange, because someday I’d look at their stuff too.

wow, did I just hijack your tiny post? ack!

  3. I’m jealous! That must have been fun.

  4. Aw, man that sounds heavenly, Dawn. Glad you got so much out of the weekend, though!! And if anyone should be writing again, it’s Kelly, sheesh, woman! :)
Dawn, did you bring your essays-in-progress? I didn’t get the time to post before you left, but I’d have said “go for it!” if I did!

  5. Color me jealous, too, Dawn. Sounds like it was a productive and fun time, too.

Kelly, sheesh woman! You should DEFINITELY be writing again. Hint. Hint.

Dawn, did you bring your essays-in-progress? Because had I the time to offer input before you left, I’d have offered an emphatic “go for it.” :)
