I really want me one of these
(You can get ‘em here.)
House update below the cut.
When we quit letting ourselves be influenced by the buyer’s dad’s incredible animosity towards us, we decided whatever. His requests aren’t necessarily out of line, just worded poorly.
Our realtor is representing both of us so he’s really NOT creating the hostility (although I think he should have censored himself a bit more) and is pretty damn frustrated that an easy deal is becoming ugly because of someone who isn’t actually even involved.
Anyway, we decided that we didn’t care if they needed us to pay rent. “But but but!” sputtered our realtor. “They DON’T need the rent! They DON’T need the house — they will be on their honeymoon anyway! This guy just wants to be a big shot for his daughter! He’s being an unreasonable jerk!” Ehh, we shrugged. What do we care. Paying rent after closing isn’t that uncommon and they way we figured, we just wanted this over with. If the dad needs to be able to march around at his daughter’s wedding and play the big shot who saved her from our evil intentions, whatever. So be it. Let him march. What’s it got to do with us?
And then our realtor said, “I can’t allow you to do this. I’ll pay the rent. I can’t let this guy get away with it.” So he’s going to pay the rent and I’m sure he’ll do it with a big angry fluorish because he really wants to get all up in this guy’s face but can’t for obvious reasons.
We’re still waiting to hear on the house we want. There are some minor things that have to happen and then there’s a revisiting of the closing (who will pay it).

One of my favorite nuns from Seattle has this on her car. I have also seen one with the fish and inside it says “n chips”.
Hope the house woes are quickly solved.
Karma.
I’m feeling Karma at work here.
Never seen the gefilte or the “and chips” but have seen the darwin one with feet. Love them. Unitarians often go in big for this kind of stuff.
It makes me think of grrl’s baby.
That is cute; I want one!
That reminds me of the bumper stickers whicih read “Have you found G-d?” or something like that, which was countered by signs that read “Never lost Him.”
Weirdly, your new posts are showing up in my bloglines but not on thiswomanswork.com. Very strange.
I’m not even Jewish and I WANT one! It also makes me think of Grrrrl.
Hee hee, I totally want one.
I’m glad your realtor seems so nice. I’m seriously impressed that he would pay the rent. I don’t know if my realtor would have done it, even though she was fabulous.
