I'm prochoice and I actually have very good conversations with many prolifers about what we can do to change things for the better. There are plenty of things that we agree will on... but of course the politics of either side would rather we focus in on what we don't agree on. Some things that I found us agree on:
1) better our adoption laws to protect everyone involved. (this I have to say is/was no. 1 in all of our discussions about what can/should be better)
2)making preg. less of a stigma for young people
3)making sure that all people who are seen by a doctor/consular are screened for abuse and that help was offered and readily available
4)making sure that all the options are fully considered (we probably disagree on what that means, and I think this is more of an age biased problem)

Some of them, will agree with the idea that if we have to have legel abortion then we also need for those clinc's to be operating a safe and regulated manner.

We will never agree about abortion... as you say if they beleive that it is killing a baby then we are at a stand still on that. But I find that there is a lot about the care of young women and about preg. women that we do agree on. It is here that we must focus our attention on the most.

One of the things that I have been asking many about recently is if abortion does become illegel in the next few years then how will the CBC's amp up to help the women in crisis preg. that cannot get to mexico get the care that they need? What more do we need to do as a socity that is already failing a good % of our child pop. not just in ed., but in basics like food, warmth, and care going to do to take care of more that will be in need? I also think that it will increase the amount of babies born with disablities because of low prenatal care and perhaps addiction... these babies are not always easy to find homes for... foster care is already streached... we need plans.. not fingers.

It's good to know that there are others out there like me, who are pro-choice and pro-life. My question to every pro-lifer out there has been what have you done to make sure these babies are given an opportunity for a future. I hate the idea that any woman would find herself in a place where a child is not wanted, but I have held the hands of friends as they've also made this decision. I know how heart wrenching it is.
