I used to read hip mama -- way, way back in the day. I remember reading the posts by Allison and she reminded me of my own mother, who was only 16 when she got pregnant and 17 when I was born.

Alli's posts on hipmama and girlmom and the other things she wrote gave me a glimpse into my mama's experience that I may never have had otherwise (my mom doesn't like to talk about it much). She helped me see the struggles and the joys of being a young mom, even when other people disapprove.

I hope that her family knows what a hero Alli was for so many girlmoms and daughters of girlmoms and mamas in general. I am so sad that she is gone, but I am confident her legacy will live on. Love to Cade, Alli's mom, her partner Julie and her stepson.

Lots of us know that Alli would not have committed suicide without leaving some kind of note. We know that she would not have left Cade.
