Things I don’t care about

May 31, 2005 The Story of My Life

(Well, really I do but I’m pretending not to for sanity’s sake.)

1. The state of the living room carpet (strewn with toys, crumbs and clothes Madison dragged in from the clean laundry pile).

2. The clean (unfolded) laundry pile.

3. The yet-to-be-washed laundry.

4. The article I should be working on (due tomorrow) instead of making this list.

5. The crick in my neck.

6. The to-do list that isn’t planning on going anywhere and in fact seems to be growing.

7. How heavy the Britax Marathon really is.

8. The rain in the city to which we’ll be traveling (I got rid of my light coat after an unfortunate ink incident).

9. The expense of the trip, which — like the to-list — seems to be increasing.

10. Who will be caring for Noah since Brett’s work won’t let him off on Monday. (Inlaws are out of town — calls to alternatives are pending.)

11. The PR sample I reviewed last month and right this minute remembered I meant to pack it and send it back before I left. (See how that to-do list has a mind of its own???)

It’s all going to be Just Fine. In a week, we’ll all know how it turns out. I’ll just pretend that it’s already next week and everything is over with already.
