		<description>Thanks for that.  It's helpful to hear.  A lot of it is similar to what we're experiencing so far, except I think my mom may make her fears known in nastier ways than yours and my brother (who is also a big mouth, but not close to me) is not on our side, so we have to find other ways to avoid my mother's immediate (usually quite unseemly) first reactions to things.
On the plus side, Nat is the first grandchild in both families, so everyone is gaga about her, per se--especially my partner's parents who'd given up any hope of ever having grandchildren at all.</description>

		<description>Man, that's tough - when one (or more) of the adoptive grandparents aren't down with the idea of openness in adoption.  I'll spare you our sad little story, except to say...give your mom some time.  It's not been that long, really.  It's great to see that your sister is so supportive - we've found that my sister and Keith's brother have been our biggest cheerleaders throughout this whole thing.  Good luck and happy belated placement day!</description>
