When J was 4, he was told by an immigrant neighbor (I say that b/c I think it was a cultural thing doing the reveal) that there was no Santa. Slowly but surely he has given back to the idea of Santa, always asking me for reassurance.
I figured all the other myths would have gone by now, but they haven’t. I think he likes the loot too much. My guy is just a few months behind yours.
I remembering enjoying the loot regardless of whether I believed or not. After losing a tooth, I’d try so hard to catch that tooth fairy; never could even tho I knew who it was.
Guess I’m saying it’s passing of an age, but not passing of a tradition b/c they still enjoy participating. It’s still toughest on Mom, tho.
